Jay McFarland has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Renewable Operations Director at Southern Power since February 2016, after holding the role of Commercial Optimization & Trading Manager. Prior to this, Jay worked at Georgia Power Company as the Assistant to the Senior Vice President from May 2014 to February 2016. Jay's career began at Mississippi Power, where roles included Chemical Products and Compliance Manager, System Planning Manager, and Engineering Manager from March 2008 to May 2014. Between June 2002 and March 2008, Jay held multiple positions at Alabama Power Company, such as Operations Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader (Electrical & Instrumentation), and Project Engineer. Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University from 1998 to 2002.
