Fiona Barker has held various roles throughout their work experience. Fiona currently serves as the Head of People and Capability at Earthquake Commission (EQC), starting in April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Strategic People, Culture & Capability Business Partner at EQC from February 2020 to April 2022. Before joining EQC, Fiona was the National Manager at ManpowerGroup New Zealand, where they led teams in enhancing HR strategies and gaining insights into global changes in the world of work. Fiona also worked as a Talent Acquisition Manager at Arrow International (NZ) Limited, devising and delivering talent strategies. Fiona has experience as an HR Manager at Write Research Company, specializing in HR strategy, talent management, and learning and development. Fiona began their career as a Marketing Recruitment Consultant at EMR and Michael Page, and later served as a Recruitment Consultant at The Care Bureau, managing temporary care placements and establishing the Live-In Care division.

Fiona Barker attended the University of Canterbury from 1995 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Classical History and American Studies. Prior to that, they studied at Nelson College for Girls from 1990 to 1994, but their degree and field of study during this time are unknown.
