Sandra Payne has extensive experience in maternal and pediatric healthcare, currently serving as the Manager of the Birthing and Postpartum Unit at Southlake Regional Health Centre since July 2012. Sandra has held various roles including Clinical Coordinator of the Maternal Child Program and Nurse Educator for the Pediatric and NICU departments, where responsibilities include leading clinical knowledge application and supporting healthcare initiatives. Key accomplishments include the development of a competency-based orientation program, serving as Lead Instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and contributing to the Meditech project team for electronic charting system implementation. Prior experience includes roles as a Public Health Nurse at York Region and as a Registered Nurse in NICU and pediatric settings at Markham Stouffville Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children. Sandra holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from McMaster University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Health Studies at Athabasca University.
