Jesus Cabrera

Board Member at SOUTHWEST KEY PROGRAMS INC

Jesús Cabrera joined Southwest Key’s board of directors in October 2019.

Mr. Cabrera is an Ecclesiastical Judge at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a doctoral candidate in Canon Law at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain.

In addition to his role on Southwest Key’s board of directors, Mr. Cabrera also serves on the board of directors for La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. (La Casa) a community-based organization dedicated to serving Waukesha, Wisconsin’s low-income and Latino populations. He is an active member of the Canon Law Society of America and a former member of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME/CCIME), where he served as coordinator of the CCIME’s Commission on Legal Affairs.

Mr. Cabrera was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. After earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Guadalajara in 1996, he came to the United States to study in the English as a Second Language Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He earned a Canon Law Degree from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy in 2002.

Mr. Cabrera resides in Racine, Wisconsin with his wife and son.
