Edward Balunas

Edward Balunas is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in program management and systems engineering, primarily within the defense sector. Currently serving as a Senior Program Manager for Research and Development at Southwest Research Institute since September 2019, Edward previously held several key roles at Lockheed Martin, including Program Manager for Group 1-3 Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Airborne Systems Program Manager. Notable achievements include leading a $1B bid for the Combat Rescue Helicopter and managing a $371M A-10 Prime Contract. Additional experience encompasses technical leadership in Tactical System integration for the Royal Navy and oversight of aircraft sustainment and modernization activities. Edward holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University.
