Jan Newton

Vice Chair at Southwest Research Institute

Jan Newton is a highly accomplished engineer who has worked on some of the most cutting-edge projects in the aerospace industry. Jan is currently the Vice Chair at Southwest Research Institute, but they previously spent nearly three years at SpaceX as an Integration and Test Engineer II. In that role, they were responsible for testing and repairing rocket boosters, as well as developing test plans and safety procedures. Prior to SpaceX, they worked at L2 Aviation as a Project Engineer, where they developed modifications for a variety of aircraft and performed on-aircraft testing of installed systems. Jan is a talented engineer with a proven track record of success in their field.

Jan Newton graduated with a Master of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Jan also holds a Bachelor of Science in the same field from The University of Texas at Austin.
