Mike W. Thomas

Mike W. Thomas is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Lead Specialist in Communications at the Southwest Research Institute since April 2024. Previously, Mike held the position of Director of Communications at the FirstDay Foundation from September 2022 to September 2023, and at BCFS Health & Human Services from August 2019 to September 2022. Prior to these roles, Mike was the Director of Communications at the Bexar County Medical Society, where responsibilities included serving as the Editor of San Antonio Medicine magazine. Mike's extensive journalism experience includes a tenure as a Reporter for the San Antonio Business Journal, covering diverse topics such as banking and finance, as well as serving in various editorial roles. Earlier career highlights include reporting positions at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Kerrville Daily Times, and ShoreLine Times. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University.
