Ryan D. Lamm

Ryan D. Lamm is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in overseeing research and development operations in robotics and artificial intelligence at Southwest Research Institute since April 1997. As Executive Director, Lamm manages both domestic and international collaborations and business development efforts related to commercial and defense R&D, focusing on technologies such as automated driving systems and intelligent machines. Lamm has held several leadership roles, including Director of the Applied Sensing Department and Assistant Director in the Intelligent Systems Department, where strategic growth initiatives were implemented. Lamm's early engineering career involved managing projects within communication engineering and developing communication systems for intelligent transportation. Additionally, Lamm served in the Texas State Guard as a 2nd Class TMAR Diver. Educational qualifications include a CPD in Organizational Leadership from The Wharton School, an MS in Management of Technology, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
