Sandesh Rao

Sandesh Rao is a seasoned engineer specializing in advanced algorithms and powertrain controls, currently serving as a Senior Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute since April 2018. Rao’s career includes progressive roles at the same institute, starting as an Engineer in Powertrain Controls. Prior to that, experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University from January 2016 to December 2017 and as an Assistant Manager in Product Design at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. from August 2013 to August 2015 reflects a strong foundation in engineering roles. Early in the career, Rao held various positions at Orion Racing India, advancing from CAD & Powertrain Engineer to CAD Head & Senior Powertrain Engineer. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
