Chief Information Officer at Southwestern Law School

Sean Murphy is currently the Chief Information Officer at Southwestern Law School. Prior to this, they were the Chief Information Officer at the California Institute of the Arts from January 2001 to June 2017. Sean has also worked as a Network Administrator for the United States Marine Corps from October 1996 to October 2000.

Some of Sean's key achievements include developing an IT strategic plan that aligned technology with the Institute's academic mission and administrative goals, lead a highly engaged, professional, customer-focused department maintaining a 99.6% satisfaction rating from faculty, students, and staff after solving more than 21,000 requests since November of 2013, developed and implemented a privacy policy for the Institute’s continuing education platform, and optimized department efficiencies through new processes, standards, and staff development. Additionally, Sean lead a team to transform traditional operational reporting to an on-demand model to inform Institutional decision making and forecasting.

Sean also has a degree from Coding Dojo in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications and a degree from the Marine Corps Communication and Electronics School.
