Scott Cook M.D., Mph

Scott Cook MD MPH has extensive work experience in the field of addiction medicine and healthcare administration. Scott has held positions such as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Positive Recovery Solutions LLC, where they provided medical oversight and leadership. Scott also served as the Regional Medical Director and Interim Medical Director at Recovery Centers of America, an addiction medicine provider with the goal of saving 1 million lives. Additionally, they founded and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Save-A-Sole Foundation, a nonprofit organization. Dr. Cook also founded and operated THE TRAVEL DOCTORS, a traveling physician practice specializing in addiction medicine. Scott worked as a Strategic Expansion Consultant and Physician at Ria Health, a telemedicine platform for addiction treatment. Previously, they held leadership roles at Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services and Highmark Health, where they served as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director, respectively, focusing on addiction medicine and behavioral health. Dr. Cook also had experience as a Medical Director for Gateway Hospice and as an Associate Medical Director at C2C Innovative Solutions, Inc. Overall, Scott Cook MD MPH has a diverse background in addiction medicine, public health, and healthcare administration.

Scott Cook, MD, MPH, obtained a BA in Biology from Denison University in 1988. Scott then went on to complete their MD and a Medical Humanities Certificate in Medicine & Religion at Drexel University College of Medicine from 1994 to 1998. In 1991, they earned an MPH from the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in Public Health. Recently, in 2022, they completed the Global Health Care Leadership Certificate program at Harvard Medical School. Scott Cook also holds various additional certifications, including diplomas from The American Board of Family Medicine, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the American Board of Addiction Medicine, among others. Scott is licensed to practice medicine in several states, including Arizona, New Jersey, Georgia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, California, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
