Marijean Amesmann, IBCLC, is an experienced Parent Educator at Southwestern Public Health since April 2019, working with the Healthy Babies Healthy Children home visiting team. Marijean has held the role of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® since November 2011, offering support for breastfeeding goals through various workshops and visits in London, St. Thomas, and Elgin County. In addition, Marijean has been a Breastfeeding Support Leader with La Leche League Canada since February 2009, providing free support to parents. Previously, Marijean served as a Breastfeeding Peer Mentor at the University of Toronto from February 2014 to January 2019. Educational qualifications include a Breastfeeding Program from Mohawk College and studies at Fanshawe College.
