Gary Walia is a seasoned leader in the energy sector with extensive experience in innovation, project management, and operations. Currently serving as Director of the Grid of the Future at Southwire Company since March 2023, Gary is focused on advancing business strategies to foster innovative and sustainable solutions for the global energy transition. Prior to Southwire, Gary held significant roles at Schneider Electric, Eaton, Georgia System Operations Corporation, California ISO, SMUD, and Caltrans, consistently demonstrating expertise in project execution, operations management, and client engagement. Educational qualifications include an Executive Program in Global Strategy & Organizational Leadership from INSEAD, a B.S. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from California State University-Sacramento, a Graduate Certificate in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, and an Associate of Science in Mathematics and Physical Science from American River College.
