Marty J. Alvarado

Marty J. Alvarado is a seasoned professional in education and workforce development with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Partner at Sova since July 2024, Alvarado previously held the position of Vice President of Post Secondary Education & Training at Jobs for the Future from March 2023 to June 2024. Prior to that, an Executive Vice Chancellor was held at the CA Community College Chancellor's Office from April 2019 to March 2023. Alvarado's tenure at Jobs for the Future also included a role as Senior Program Director, Cross Sector Networks from February 2015 to April 2019. Earlier career achievements include serving as Director of Workforce Development, Director of Institutional Resource Development, Philosophy Instructor, and CalWORKs Manager at Long Beach City College from February 2004 to January 2015. A brief contract as CTE Coordinator at Mt. San Antonio College occurred in July 2008. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Philosophy/Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Whittier College.
