Kristin Button

Kristin Button is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in public finance and municipal credit. Currently serving as Director at S&P Global Ratings since August 2017, Kristin leads the Southwest Local Government Ratings team. Previously, Kristin held the position of VP, Municipal Credit Underwriter at Bank of America, where responsibilities included providing credit products to municipal borrowers. Kristin's experience also encompasses over 14 years as Vice President/Senior Analyst at Moody's Investors Services, focusing on credit ratings for various public entities across multiple states. Early career roles included Management Analyst for the City of Fort Worth, where budget development and cost analysis were key responsibilities, and an internship with the City of Denton’s Solid Waste Department. Kristin holds a Master of Public Administration in Public Finance from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.
