Chad Malott has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Chad started their career at SIEMENS POWER GENERATION INC as an Engineering Technician, where they created parts catalogs and lists using various software programs. Chad then joined the University of Central Florida as a Math Tutor/Program Assistant for Student Athletes, providing tutoring in mathematics and tracking student performance.
After that, Chad worked at Northrop Grumman as an Engineer Electrical/Nuclear II, where they provided engineering support for the assembly and installation of a new power unit. Chad also held a security clearance and maintained radiation worker qualification.
Next, they joined NuScale Power as an Electrical Principal Engineer, responsible for the specification, design, and development of electrical systems for the NuScale Standard Plant.
Chad then worked as an I&C Technical Project Engineer/Systems Engineer at GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy International, LLC, where they coordinated with staff from multiple organizations for system upgrades at a nuclear power facility.
At the University of Central Florida, Chad held the role of Tutor/Program Assistant once again, tutoring student athletes in various subjects and tracking their performance.
Chad then joined Duke Energy Corporation as an Engineering Designer III, where they coordinated with project managers and other stakeholders to update and revise documentation for a combined cycle gas turbine plant.
After Duke Energy, Chad worked at Jacobs as an Electrical Maintenance and Reliability Engineer, where they investigated and initiated a Root Cause Failure Analysis and coordinated with various stakeholders to determine the cause of a motor controller failure.
Currently, Chad is working at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. as a Research and Development Scientist 3.
Chad Malott has an extensive education history. Chad began their educational journey in 1988 at the Naval Nuclear Power School, where they completed a Certificate of Completion in Naval Nuclear Power Plant Operations. In the same year, they also obtained a Certificate of Completion in Electrician's Mate Fundamentals from the Naval Nuclear Power Electrician's Mate School. Shortly after, in 1989, Chad received a Certificate of Completion in Qualified Electrical Operator from the Naval Nuclear Prototype Training Unit.
Following their military training, Chad pursued their passion for engineering and mathematics. Chad attended Pellissippi State Community College from 1995 to 1997, earning an Associate of Science degree with a focus on Pre-Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. Chad then transferred to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they studied from 1997 to 2000 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a Minor in Mathematics.
Chad's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue further education in mathematics. From 2005 to 2006, they attended the University of Central Florida for graduate studies in mathematics, focusing on Applied Mathematics. Finally, from 2015 to 2022, Chad completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Central Florida.
Chad's education history demonstrates their dedication to learning, encompassing a range of subjects from engineering to mathematics.
