System Engineer at SPA

Eric Bettinger has a diverse work experience in the field of system engineering and naval officer roles. Eric started their career in 2016 as a Naval Officer in the US Navy, specializing in submarine operations and nuclear engineering. During their time in the US Navy, they served on the USS SANTA FE, fulfilling various roles including Electrical Officer, Chemistry and Radiological Controls Officer, and Assistant Engineer Officer. Currently, Eric is stationed on the MTS 635 - SAM RAYBURN for an inactivation availability. In 2023, they joined Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. as a System Engineer, tasked with supporting the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office in risk management for Nuclear Weapon Surety (NWS) systems. Eric utilizes threat assessments to assist SSP in coordinating with the Submarine Fleet to mitigate threats.

Eric Bettinger attended Florida Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
