Jacob Trombetta

Jacob Trombetta has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jacob is currently employed at Space and Time as a Staff Software Engineer since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Engineering Manager, Perception at Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation from April 2022 to June 2023. Furthermore, they were the Lead Senior Software Engineer at RE2 Robotics from May 2021 to May 2022.

Jacob has a strong background in computer vision algorithms and imaging mathematics. Jacob worked at Applied Vision Corporation for a significant amount of time, where they held multiple roles. Jacob served as the Director of Algorithms and Imaging Mathematics from January 2019 to May 2021, leading a cross-functional team in developing a glass check detection system and a metal container decoration inspection system. Jacob was also a Senior Research Engineer (software) from December 2017 to January 2019, implementing various algorithms for metal container inspection and color accuracy assessment. Additionally, Jacob worked as a Software Engineer at Applied Vision Corporation from December 2011 to December 2017, optimizing image processing algorithms and delivering sales presentations to Fortune 500 level customers.

During their early career, Jacob gained valuable experience in customer service and resource management as a Public Service Assistant at Akron-Summit County Public Library from May 2007 to December 2011. Jacob Trombetta has a diverse educational background. In 2002, they enrolled at The University of Akron and completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2006. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Mathematics at the same university from 2009 to 2011. In 2017, Jacob continued their education by obtaining a Nanodegree in Artificial Intelligence from Udacity. In terms of additional certifications, they earned the Fundamentals of Accelerated Computing with CUDA C/C++ certification from NVIDIA in April 2023 and the Computer Vision for Industrial Inspection certification from the same institution in March 2023.
