Dan McConnell

Dan McConnell serves as the President and Chief Strategist at DMCPR since 2009, where strategic communications counsel is provided to global clients through a team of independent professionals. Concurrently, McConnell is a Senior Instructor and Advisor at the University of Washington since 1990, earning the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014 for contributions to the Public Relations and Strategic Communications Certificate Program. Additional roles include Strategic Communications and Public Relations for Chihuly Garden and Glass and Chihuly Studio since 2012 and 2004, respectively, as well as for the Space Needle since 1999. Previously, McConnell held the position of SVP/Global PR Strategies at DDB Worldwide from 1993 to 2009, following the acquisition of their consulting firm, and served as Chief Executive Officer of The McConnell Company from 1978 to 1993, one of the leading independent public relations firms in the Pacific Northwest. Early in their career, McConnell was the Director of Investor Relations at Cummins Engine Company from 1970 to 1978. McConnell holds a Master's in Business Education and a Bachelor's in English and Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington.
