Nancy Levenson

Nancy A. Levenson is an experienced leader in the field of astronomy, currently serving as the Deputy Director and previously as the Interim Director at the Space Telescope Science Institute since November 2016. Prior to this role, Nancy held the position of Deputy Director and Head of Science at Gemini Observatory from July 2009 to October 2016. Nancy's academic career began at the University of Kentucky, where positions included Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy from January 2002 to July 2009. Nancy A. Levenson earned a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley, after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Oxford and an A.B. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Harvard University.
