Ray Gauss II

Ray Gauss II currently serves as the Head of Engineering and Technology (Associate Director) at the Space Telescope Science Institute, leading the engineering and technology functions and driving strategic initiatives to modernize practices and align internal teams. With extensive experience in technology and engineering leadership, Ray has contributed significantly to various organizations, including roles as Senior Director of Architecture and Engineering at Slingshot Aerospace, Director of Innovation at Easy Dynamics Corp, and multiple positions at Alfresco where architectural innovation in digital asset management and integrations was emphasized. Ray co-founded RightsPro and served as CTO at RightsAssist, enriching technical capabilities and product directions across companies. A member of the Apache Software Foundation as a Committer/PMC member of Apache Tika, Ray holds a Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics from the University of Maryland.
