Katy Barrett is currently the Manager of Falcon Structures Engineering at SpaceX. They have held various engineering roles at SpaceX from 2017 to 2020. They contributed as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan in 2010, where they worked on a device to enhance medical safety in Sub-Saharan Africa. Katy earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they also obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in the same field. Additionally, Katy has experience as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Google and has mentored students in robotics at MIT.
