Laura Wayland is an accomplished Structures Design Engineer II at SpaceX since July 2021, specializing in the design of hardware for Crew and Cargo Dragon capsules, alongside redesigning existing components for enhanced functionality and efficiency. Prior experience includes a Product Design Internship at Apple, where Laura was integral to the iPhone Product Design team, creating technical drawings and presenting to leadership. As a Test Engineering Intern at DEKA Research & Development, Laura improved efficiency and reduced costs by redesigning fixtures for hemodialysis devices. Laura's early experience includes a Mechanical Engineering Internship at The Lee Company, conducting lab tests on solenoid valves and pumps.
