Tim Southerton is the Director of Starship Launch Engineering at SpaceX. They have extensive experience as a senior test equipment and ground systems mechanical engineer, with a background in robotics and HVAC that they applied to industrial fluids and test systems. Previously, Tim held various engineering roles, including Ground Support Equipment Engineer at SpaceX and Advanced Refrigerants Intern at Carrier Corporation, where they led projects on alternative refrigerants. Tim earned a BS/MEng dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is passionate about helping others achieve their goals, as well as enjoying mountain biking and exploring the outdoors in their free time.
