Michael Poynton is an experienced educational and training professional with a strong background in public services and policing. Currently serving as a Curriculum Coordinator at Spaghetti Bridge Ltd since February 2023, Michael previously held roles at Gwent Police as a PEQF Trainer and at Ruskin Mill College as an Education and Learning Coordinator and Safeguarding Manager. Michael's extensive experience also includes positions at West Mercia Police where responsibilities ranged from General Policing Trainer to Police Constable, where various roles in law training and public relations were undertaken. Educational accomplishments include a PGCE from the University of Wales, Newport, and an International Studies degree from North Staffordshire Polytechnic. Michael has also contributed significantly to the development of courses in policing and has been recognized for achievements within the educational sector.

Spaghetti Bridge is helping students to overcome their individual challenges and achieve personal and academic growth. We believe that through building trust and rebuilding confidence, every young person can reach his or her full potential. Our approach is specifically designed to provide a positive experience for students, re-engaging and reconnecting them with education in a way that will not only extend their academic, vocational and social skills and abilities, but also promote personal growth and help to build self-esteem. We recognise that for many students, the journey of education so far has been far from easy, so we take a more creative, individualised approach to learning, centred around well-being and skills for independence. From the time they arrive, we start thinking about where students will be moving to after they leave us to ensure they are well prepared to achieve their goals and succeed. Many students are particularly vulnerable and have not developed at the same social or emotional pace as their peers. These students will benefit from the nurturing and more focused curriculum we provide, helping them develop core capabilities with enhanced social and emotional support, and successfully transition into an enriched learning environment with their peers.
