Hemam Muthyala

Hemam Muthyala began their work experience as a Research Assistant at UT Dallas in 2002. Hemam then worked as a Software Engineer at Metallect from 2003 to 2007 before moving on to Decisiv as a Sr. Software Engineer for a brief period in 2007. Hemam then joined VMware in 2007, where they served as a Staff/Lead Engineer in R&D until 2010 and later took on the role of Sr. Engineering Manager for the vSphere 2013 and 2015 releases. Hemam then joined Oracle as Sr. Engineering Manager for their Data Platform from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, they joined Workday as the Director of Engineering, Security - IAM and Cloud Services. At Workday, they led multiple Product & Platform Security teams and played a crucial role in building innovative authorization products and identity services. Hemam also has experience as the VP Engineering, Security & IT | CIO at a Stealth Startup from 2022 to 2023. Hemam then worked at Samsara as the Head of Security Products, where they rapidly grew the team and developed a risk-based approach to building security vision and strategy. In 2023, Hemam took on the role of Global Head of Security at SPAN and joined Clear Ventures as part of the CxO Council.

Hemam Muthyala completed a Graduate Program in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, Hemam received an MS degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas, from 2001 to 2003. Hemam's undergraduate studies were conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where they earned a B.Tech degree from 1997 to 2001.
