Catalina Vela Gual

Catalina Vela Gual is a research technician at the CNIO - Spanish National Cancer Research Centre, specializing in brain metastasis under the guidance of Manuel Valiente since November 2023. Previously, Catalina was a research intern at the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute from February 2023 to July 2023, focusing on the molecular signaling pathways in lymphoma microenvironments. Earlier experience includes a research internship at Karolinska Institutet from February 2022 to July 2022, where collaboration involved isolating downstream signaling of the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R). Catalina holds a Master's degree in Biomedicine with a focus on Basic and Translational Cancer Research from the Universitat de Barcelona, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the same institution. Education prior includes a Baccalaureate in Biology from IES Berenguer d'Anoia.
