Laura Serrano Ron, PhD, currently serves as a Data Scientist and Bioinformatician at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) since March 2023, focusing on bioinformatics support and the development of computational methodologies for cancer research. Prior to this role, Laura worked as a Research Associate at Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas from July 2018 to November 2022, studying organ generation in the roots of A. thaliana. Earlier experience includes research intern positions at Estación Experimental del Zaidín, investigating genetic mechanisms of tomato plant infections by P. syringae, and at Centro Andaluz de Biología del Desarrollo, examining biofilm formation in P. putida. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Genetics and Evolution from Universidad de Granada and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Universidad Pablo de Olavide.
