David Koweek

David Koweek, PhD, serves as the Chief Scientist and Science Director at Ocean Visions since June 2020, while also holding the position of Board Director at Spark Climate Solutions starting December 2023. Prior experience includes a Fellowship at the Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions from August 2020 to June 2021, a contractor role with the Science Philanthropy Alliance in early 2020, and a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position at the Carnegie Institution for Science until July 2020. Koweek completed a Doctoral degree in Earth System Science at Stanford University from 2011 to 2016 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology-Biology from Brown University between 2005 and 2009. Additionally, Koweek has experience as a Research Assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory from 2009 to 2011.
