Masha Zakharova has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Masha began their career in 2013 as a Sessional Instructor at Simon Fraser University, where they taught research methods and statistics to undergraduate students. In 2015, they joined the House of Commons as a Data Visualisation and Statistics Specialist, later transitioning to roles such as Customer and Engagement Partner, Project Manager, and Data Visualisation and Statistics Lead. In 2021, Masha worked as a Data Science Mentor at Decoded before moving on to Essence as an Analytics Associate Director in 2022. Masha then progressed to the role of Analytics Director at EssencemediacomX in 2023. Currently, Masha is the Global Head of Data and Analytics at Spark Foundry.

Masha Zakharova holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2017.
