Machine Learning Engineer at SPARK Neuro

Kaveh Shoorideh has a diverse work experience. Kaveh is currently working at SPARK Neuro as a Machine Learning Engineer since March 2023. From March 2020 to October 2022, they worked at Meta as a Data Scientist. In this role, they utilized machine learning A/B testing, causal inference, and SQL to extract business insights from data and identify improvement strategies. Kaveh provided analytics support throughout product launches and experimentation. Prior to that, Kaveh was a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science from September to November 2019. Here, they built and deployed an ML service that provided recommendations for impactful local races during the 2020 election. From January 2016 to August 2019, they served as the Director of Technology at SELFA, Inc., overseeing the development of a portable molecular diagnostics platform. Kaveh started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles from September 2008 to June 2017, and as a Graduate Student Researcher from September 2007 to May 2015. During this time, they designed, simulated, fabricated, and characterized semiconductor circuit elements for biological molecule detection. Additionally, they worked as an Adventurer at UCI Physics Outreach: John Rosendahl's Adventures in Physics from January 2005 to April 2005, providing physics demonstrations in elementary school assemblies and hosting community events.

Kaveh Shoorideh completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from UC Irvine between the years 2001 and 2005. Kaveh then pursued further education at UCLA, where they earned their Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from 2005 to 2008. Kaveh Shoorideh continued their academic journey at UCLA, obtaining their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from 2008 to 2015.
