Melissa Lacy has a diverse work experience spanning various healthcare organizations. Melissa began their career at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Pediatric emergency department clinical technician/IV therapist. Melissa then moved on to Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, where they worked as a Child Unit RN/Mental Health Specialist II. Following this, they worked as an Emergency Department RN at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center.
In 2009, Melissa joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center - Children's Hospital as a Charge Nurse. Melissa transitioned to Fast Pace Urgent Care in 2013 and served as an FNP - Team Lead, providing care to a rural health community. Melissa later became the Manager of STAT Team Operations and implemented various clinical quality measures. Additionally, they served as the Director of Clinical Services and played a key role in the expansion of Fast Pace Urgent Care.
In 2018, Melissa joined Shearwater Health as the VP of Clinical Services, responsible for clinical leadership and initiatives. Melissa then served as the SVP of Clinical Operations and EVP of Quality & Performance, where they built relationships with nurse leaders globally and ensured clinical preparedness and quality.
Most recently, Melissa is working at Spark Pediatrics as the Chief Nursing Officer. Melissa oversees a team of pediatric-specialized nurses and complex care therapists, providing comprehensive care for medically complex children.

Melissa Lacy completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from James Madison University in 2004. Melissa then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Belmont University from 2006 to 2008. Later, they attended Vanderbilt University School of Nursing from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing.
