Nirmalya Datta

Nirmalya Datta has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Nirmalya is currently working as a Research and Engagement Specialist at SparkBeyond since January 2022. Before that, they served as a Senior Data Scientist at Blubirch from January 2021 to January 2022. Prior to their industry roles, Nirmalya worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from April 2018 to October 2020. During this time, they focused on developing new algorithms to optimize intelligent manufacturing processes and improve human-machine interaction using AI techniques. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Doctoral Fellow at Nanyang Technological University from August 2012 to July 2017, where they conducted research on solar-assisted membrane-based liquid desiccant air-conditioning systems. Nirmalya also worked as an Assistant Manager at Tata Motors from August 2010 to August 2011.

Nirmalya Datta earned their Bachelor of Technology degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur in 2010. Nirmalya then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore, completing it in 2017. In January 2013, they also obtained a certification in University Teaching for Teaching Assistants from the Nanyang Technological University.
