Jayant Shekhar

Jayant Shekhar is the Co-Founder/CEO of Sparkflows since April 2016. Jayant is also currently serving as a Strategic Advisor at COGNECTO since March 2020.

Before this, Jayant worked as a Principal Architect at Cloudera from September 2011 to April 2016. In this role, they led the West Coast Architecture team, played a key role in scaling up the team, and formed partnerships with various departments across the organization.

Prior to Cloudera, Jayant held the position of Engineering Management at Proofpoint Inc from July 2010 to June 2011. In this role, they led the development of the Spam Products of Proofpoint, utilizing technologies like Hadoop/HIVE/Cassandra to achieve scalability.

From April 2007 to June 2010, Jayant worked as a Sr. Engineering Manager at Yahoo! Inc. Here, they led the development of the Listings Platform, built a large-scale storage and distribution platform, and managed the development of various Yahoo projects.

Previously, Jayant served as Lead Engineer / Eng Mgr at ebay Inc from September 2004 to April 2007. Jayant developed the Search Intelligence Backend Component of the Search Infrastructure, improving search relevance using demand data.

Before ebay, Jayant worked as a Lead Engineer at KLA-Tencor from February 1996 to September 2004. In this role, they designed and developed key modules of Klarity, a new generation Reticle Inspection Data Storage and Analysis system.

Jayant started their career as a Software Engineer at Tata Motors from 1991 to 1994. Here, they implemented Relational Designer, a relational database design tool, and architected and developed various modules for the software.

Overall, Jayant Shekhar has a vast and diverse work experience in roles such as Co-Founder/CEO, Strategic Advisor, Principal Architect, Engineering Management, Sr. Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer, and Software Engineer in companies such as Sparkflows, COGNECTO, Cloudera, Proofpoint Inc, Yahoo! Jayant Shekhar completed their Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 1987 to 1991. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering at San Jose State University from 1997 to 2000. Prior to these higher education pursuits, Jayant attended St. Xavier's College from 1985 to 1987, where they completed their Intermediate Science degree specializing in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Additionally, they attended St. Thomas School in Ranchi, although no specific degree or field of study was provided for this institution.
