Sanjiv Malhotra

Sanjiv Malhotra Ph.D has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Sanjiv is currently the Founder, CEO, and President of SPARKZ Inc. since September 2019. Sanjiv also holds the position of Founder and Managing Partner at PLUS INITIATIVE since February 2019.

Previously, Sanjiv worked at the U.S. Department of Energy as the Director of the Energy Investor Center from January 2016 to January 2019. Sanjiv was responsible for advancing private investment in energy technologies as part of the Clean Energy Investment Initiative. Before that, they served as an Advisor for Tech-to-Market from February 2015 to December 2015.

Sanjiv has also founded Oorja Protonics Inc. in 2005, where they served as the Founder, CEO, and President until August 2014. Oorja Protonics is a world leader in the development and commercialization of liquid alcohol fuel cells. Sanjiv also worked as an Advisor and Consultant at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers from January 2004 to October 2004.

In addition, Sanjiv has held the role of Vice President of Sales, Business Development, and Marketing at DCH Technology from February 2002 to December 2003. Sanjiv was also the Vice President of Business Development at H Power Corp from 2000 to 2002.

Earlier in their career, Sanjiv worked at H Power Corp as the Director of West Coast Operations from 1999 to 2000 and as a Program Manager in Systems Engineering from 1997 to 1999. Sanjiv started their professional journey with Post-Doctoral Fellowships at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1996.

Sanjiv Malhotra Ph.D's education history begins with their enrollment at St. Columbas School in New Delhi, although specific dates are not provided. Sanjiv then attended the Indian Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. Moving forward, they pursued further education at the University of Iowa from 1990 to 1993, achieving a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. Lastly, they engaged in a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the Lawrence Berkeley Labs of the University of California, Berkeley from 1996 to 1997.
