Joni Porter is a seasoned education and outdoor recreation professional with extensive experience in both teaching and ski patrol responsibilities. Currently serving as the Mountain Travel and Rescue Program Supervisor for the National Ski Patrol Eastern Division since April 2021, Joni has also been a substitute teacher in Sparta Area Schools since April 2008, possessing a Certificate of Eligibility to Teach Elementary Education after completing Stage 1 of New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey. Joni has a long-standing affiliation with various ski patrols, holding roles such as Nordic Senior at High Point Ski Patrol and Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor for the National Ski Patrol. Additionally, Joni contributed to the Sparta High School ski team as an assistant coach from 2009 to 2019. Joni's academic background includes a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior professional experience includes roles as an accountant and auditor.
