Kelly Newman, MBA, CGFO, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kelly is currently working as the Director of Finance at Spartanburg District Five Schools, a position they began in 2022. Prior to this, they spent over a decade at Spartanburg County, where they held multiple roles including Deputy Budget Director, Program Evaluation Manager, and Budget Analyst. In these positions, Kelly was responsible for formulating and monitoring budgets, identifying challenges, and implementing organizational improvements.

Before their time at Spartanburg County, Kelly served as a Program Coordinator at Carolinas Institute for Community Policing, where they developed and executed training materials for public safety professionals. Kelly also worked as an Executive Administrator at Spanish Action League of Onondaga County, a non-profit agency focused on community empowerment.

Kelly's early career included a role as a Team Leader at Verizon.

Throughout their work experience, Kelly has demonstrated strong analytical skills, budget management expertise, and a focus on organizational improvement.

Kelly Newman holds a Masters in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business, which was earned between 2006 and 2008. Prior to this, Newman obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Syracuse University - Martin J. Whitman School of Management, completed from 1997 to 2000.

They have achieved the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in December 2022.
