Lance Johnson

Lance Johnson has a diverse work experience in the wastewater and water resource recovery industry. Lance started their career in 2006 at Spartanburg Water, where they served in various roles including Reclaimed Water Treatment Lead Operator and Industrial Pretreatment Technician. In these positions, they maintained and operated wastewater treatment facilities, conducted inspections of industrial customers, and assisted in permitting.

In 2016, Johnson joined Renewable Water Resources and worked as a Pretreatment Programs Specialist, overseeing pretreatment survey programs and providing support to pretreatment activities. Lance then became the WRRF Operations Manager, responsible for the operations of eight water resource recovery facilities.

Currently, Johnson is the Director of Wastewater Operations at Spartanburg Water, where they oversee nine Wastewater Treatment Facilities, the Above Ground Maintenance Department, and the Industrial Pretreatment Program. Their responsibilities include managing treatment facilities, supply and maintenance requisitioning, budgetary management, and ensuring compliance integrity. Johnson also provides wastewater regulatory oversight for industrial customers in Spartanburg.

Lance Johnson completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in International Affairs at the University of South Carolina Upstate from 1995 to 2003.

In terms of additional certifications, Lance obtained several LinkedIn certifications.
