Katie Hughes

Katie Hughes has worked in various roles since 2012. Katie started at the Environment Agency as a Technical Advisor, then became a Product Manager (Business Intelligence) and finally a Product Owner (Data and Innovations). In 2019, they joined Sparx as a Product Owner, where they were part of a dynamic start up company delivering the leading UK maths homework platforms. Katie led a prototype product exploring the new primary school market and Product Owner for data, models and algorithms creating bespoke homework for KS3 and GCSE product. At the Environment Agency, they acted as Lead Product Owner, developed criteria for prioritising at programme level and for shaping individual product direction. Katie also mentored Product Owners on best practice and optimising developer efficiency and acted as an ambassador for the services, promoting the core benefits to operational staff up to Board and Director level. As Technical Advisor, they took site based data on over 170,000 companies and aggregated it up to global parent company level. Katie also presented to the Chief Exec of GSK as well as ESG and Investment Directors of FTSE, HSBC and Bloomberg.
