Shela Kwong

Shela Kwong has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Shela began their career at Breakthrough Collaborative as a Food and Nutrition Teacher in 2011, followed by a role as Dean of Students in 2012. In 2013, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at Ryerson University before joining Nestlé S.A. as a Nutrition Specialist for a brief period. Shela then interned as a Dietetic Intern at Grand River Hospital in 2013-2014. Shela went on to work as a Registered Dietitian at DoctorCare in 2014, before transitioning to Sysco Canada Inc., where they held positions including Nutrition Consultant, Nutrition Communications Specialist, and Marketing Specialist from 2015-2019. In 2019, they joined Kellogg Company as a Sales Strategy Manager, and later took on roles as a Brand Manager for Snack Bars and Health & Wellness Bars. In 2021, Shela co-founded SPATULA Foods. Overall, their work experience is focused on nutrition, marketing, and brand management roles within the food industry.

Shela Kwong completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph. Shela then pursued a Master of Health Science (MHSc) with a specialization in Nutrition Communication from Ryerson University. In 2014, they obtained their certification as a Registered Dietitian from the College of Dietitians of Ontario. Recently, Shela completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wilfrid Laurier University.
