Founded in 1971 as the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the largest rehabilitation facilities in the U.S., providing comprehensive rehabilitation treatment. Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital is the only rehabilitation hospital in New England continuously ranked since 1995 by U.S. News and World Report in its Best Hospitals survey. The formation of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network creates a unique convergence of comprehensive specialties to handle the demands of post-acute care in the 21st century. The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN), is made up of Spaulding and Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospitals and three skilled nursing facilities; the Boston and North End Centers and The Clark House at Fox Village. As a member of the Partners HealthCare System, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network physicians work closely with their colleagues from other member institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The Network offers 196 In-patient Rehabilitation Facility beds, 120 Long Term Acute Care beds, and 331 Skilled Nursing Facility beds as well as 17 Outpatient Rehabilitation Centers located throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
