John McGunnigle

John McGunnigle serves as the Executive Chairman, Co-Founder, and Chief Technology Officer/President of Spear AI since February 2022, where expertise encompasses maritime software, edge hardware systems, and artificial intelligence. McGunnigle holds a position on the Board of Advisors at Verterra Energy and operates as a small business owner at Applied Operations Research LLC since January 2022, focusing on undersea systems and maritime operations. Previous roles include Director of Acoustics and Undersea Systems at Saildrone Inc. and an independent consultant at DataRobot. Additionally, McGunnigle has extensive experience with the United States Navy, serving as Special Assistant for Artificial Intelligence and Lead Functional Data Manager within the Undersea Enterprise. Educational credentials include a BS in Computer Science from the United States Naval Academy and an MS in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School.
