Pavanachand Chigurupati

Pavanachand Chigurupati is a Principal Process Development Engineer at Special Metals since April 2022. Previous experience includes serving as a Sr Process Modeling Engineer in R&D at Howmet Aerospace from October 2016 to April 2022, focusing on titanium and nickel alloys for aerospace applications. Pavanachand worked at Scientific Forming Technologies Corporation for over 17 years in various roles, including Quality Control Manager, Principal Research Scientist, and Research Scientist, contributing to modeling metal forming processes and improving computational efficiency. Additionally, Pavanachand has a postdoctoral fellowship from The Ohio State University, where the 3D Voronoi Cell Finite Element Method was developed for metal matrix composite materials. Pavanachand holds a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, along with several online courses from MIT in systems engineering and additive manufacturing, a Master of Science in Engineering Design from PSG College of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur.
