Leanne Kurela

LeAnne Kurela, Ph.D., is a clinical neurophysiologist at SpecialtyCare since January 2015, where expertise includes assisting neurosurgeons with deep brain stimulation (DBS) electrode placements for conditions such as Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. Previous experience includes serving as a DBS Technologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and as a Research Assistant Professor in the Center for Neuromodulation and Department of Neuroscience. LeAnne Kurela completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University, where research focused on the serotonergic system's role in multisensory processing. Early academic pursuits included a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Allegheny College and experience as a Resident Advisor.
