Matteo Cominetti

Matteo Cominetti is the founder of Speckle, a platform for automating design processes and bringing new technologies to the built environment. Matteo has over seven years of experience in the field of computational design, performance analysis, optimization, fabrication, and software development. Prior to founding Speckle, Matteo worked as a Senior Automation Developer at Arup, where they helped drive automation and digital design implementation globally across the firm. Matteo also worked as a Design Systems Analyst at Foster + Partners, where they conducted state-of-the-art R&D to solve complex design challenges and introduced new technologies into the practice's capabilities. Matteo holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Cominetti began their educational career by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. Matteo then went on to complete an Erasmus in Architecture and Design at Aalborg University. Cominetti then continued their education by obtaining a Certification from the Architects Registration Board in ARB.
