Duncan Somerville has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Duncan started their career at ICL in 1984, where they held various finance management roles, including Finance Director for KnowledgePool Europe and Regional Financial Controller for Fujitsu-ICL Caribbean. In 2001, they joined Intel and worked in various senior financial management positions, such as EMEA Payments Shared Service Centre Manager and EMEA Distribution Finance Manager. From 2007 to 2012, Somerville worked at Vodafone, where they served as Head of IT Investment Planning and Interim Head of PMO, and later as Head of IT Business Services. Duncan then moved on to Wolseley in 2013 as a Finance Consultant, providing expertise on change management projects. In 2014, they joined Virgin Media as Total Contract Value Audit Lead and Finance Business Partner for Investments. Currently, Somerville is Head of Technology Finance and Portfolio at Specsavers, overseeing technology commercial performance and serving as the director of technology commercial performance.

Duncan Somerville completed their education at Aberystwyth University from 1981 to 1984, earning a BSc degree in Economics and Accounting. Prior to that, they attended Colchester Royal Grammar School from 1973 to 1980, obtaining 3 A Levels and 10 O Levels. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants from CIMA.
