Chris Durand

Chris Durand has a strong background in software engineering and management. Chris began their career at Acres Gaming, where they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer and Firmware Team Manager. During their time at Acres Gaming, Chris was responsible for architecting a multimillion-dollar monitoring and control system for a large casino. Chris also created a prototype for the company's Bonus Games, which was recognized as one of the top 20 innovative games in the industry.

Chris then joined SpectraLink, where they held various roles. As a Senior Software Engineer, they invented the Push-To-Talk protocol and developed an event-based system kernel. Chris also introduced a Core Dump mechanism for debugging. Later, as a Software Manager, Chris led the full refresh of the company's technology and helped establish a product development process. Chris convinced management to transition to a Quality Assurance department and worked on roles and responsibilities with the new manager.

After SpectraLink, Chris worked at Polycom as a Software Manager for Wireless Platforms. Chris directed teams in Colorado and Canada to implement Lync compatibility and certification for a Wi-Fi handset. Chris also built a successful offshore team in India and played a role in resetting a project with new hardware design, leading to the company's most profitable product.

Currently, Chris is working at Spectralink Corporation as a Director of SW Engineering. Chris collaborates with C-level executives to define and implement strategic plans for company growth and software excellence. Chris oversees all software development teams and off-shore software activities, including the development of new handsets and dedicated applications. Chris has also played a significant role in expanding partnerships and guiding teams through testing and certification processes.

Chris Durand has a Master's degree in Microelectronics from Oregon State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplome d'ingenieur in Genie Electrique from INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon in 1991.
