David Hoover has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David is currently the Director of Solutions Engineering - North America at Spectralink Corporation since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Avaya from 2013 to 2022 in various roles. From April 2018 to May 2022, they served as the Sales Engineering Manager - Avaya East, managing a team of Solution Engineers and handling direct and indirect accounts across the Northeast. From October 2013 to March 2018, they were a Sales Engineer, providing technical and consulting support for Avaya Mid-Market Account Managers and business partners.
Before joining Avaya, David had a successful career in the United States Marine Corps. From June 2009 to August 2013, they served as the Director of Safety and Standardization, overseeing and managing a comprehensive ground and aviation safety program. During this time, their squadron received the Chief of Naval Operations Safety Award and achieved 75,000 mishap-free flight hours. From November 2007 to May 2009, they worked as a Communications Officer, managing and controlling assets for classified and unclassified information systems. David also served as the Information Assurance Officer, conducting regular training on sensitive document handling and destruction. From March 2006 to November 2007, they held the position of Operations Management, developing daily flight schedules and managing a flight publication compliance program.
David's career started in the Marine Corps as a Pilot-in-Training from May 2003 to February 2006, where they completed basic Officer training, fixed-wing and rotary-wing Undergraduate Pilot Training, and specialty CH-46E training.
David Hoover holds a Masters of Business Administration degree with a Sustainability Focus from Yale School of Management. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences from Louisiana State University. David also completed Undergraduate Pilot Training at the United States Navy Flight School, specializing in Aviation and Pilot. In terms of certifications, David obtained an Aviation Safety Officer certification from the United States Department of the Navy in June 2010. Additionally, they hold a Commercial Aircraft Pilot certification obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2005.
