Christina Guevara

High School Principal & Create Program Director at Spectrum Academy

Christina Guevara has a diverse work experience in the education field. Christina started their career as a Teacher at Spectrum Academy, where they provided direct instruction of the Utah State Elementary Core Curriculum to students with individualized education programs (IEPs). Christina also created and monitored IEP goals and reported progress to administrators, parents, and students. Christina then moved up to the role of Assistant Principal, where they supported teachers and paraprofessionals in areas such as classroom management, behavior management, and differentiation. Christina conducted IEP meetings and trained staff on IEP writing, goal implementation, and parent communication. Later, they became the Secondary School Principal at Spectrum Academy and successfully held that position for four years before transitioning to become the STARS Program Director. In this role, they established the Spectrum Transition & Academic Resource School (STARS) for the academy, specializing in instruction, supports, and interventions for students in a self-contained classroom setting. Most recently, Christina has been serving as the High School Principal & CREATE Program Director at Spectrum Academy, demonstrating their leadership abilities and commitment to education. Prior to their tenure at Spectrum Academy, they worked as a Behavior Consultant at Working With Autism, Inc., where they assessed clients and created behavior programs to support the acquisition of new skills.

Christina Guevara completed their education in a chronological manner. In 2003, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Afterward, they attended the University of Phoenix - Utah Campus from 2007 to 2009, earning a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Special Education. Finally, from 2009 to 2019, Christina pursued further education at the University of Phoenix, where they successfully achieved a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
