Steve Vahalla, Jr. has a diverse work experience. Steve started their career in 2014 at Spectrum for Living, where they held various positions. Steve began as a Recreation Coordinator in July 2014 and then became an Assistant Director of Recreation in January 2015. In August 2015, they were promoted to the role of Director of Recreation, which they held until February 2019. From February 2019 to May 2021, Steve served as the Director of Development & Recreational Services. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Operations, which they have held since May 2021. Prior to their work at Spectrum for Living, Steve served as the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Lyndhurst High School starting in July 2013.
Steve Vahalla, Jr. began their education at Bloomfield High School, where they attended from 2005 to 2009. After completing high school, they went on to Kean University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications, studying there from 2010 to 2013. Steve later enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2013 and completed their education in 2014, earning a Master's degree in Sports Administration (MSA). In addition to their academic qualifications, Steve obtained certification in CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Red Cross in January 2023.

Spectrum for Living is one of New Jersey’s most respected and recognized not-for-profit organizations assisting adults with developmental disabilities in Bergen, Passaic and Middlesex Counties. Spectrum provides a wide array of housing, medical, clinical, habilitative, social and educational services to more than 200 residential consumers and hundreds of community clients. Spectrum prides itself on the special, personal care offered throughout its programs and services.
